Receipts allegedly exposed too many card digits in transactions nationwide
Summary
This settlement resolves FACTA claims that Sprouts printed more than the last five digits of customers’ card numbers on receipts. The settlement covers transactions nationwide during the listed card-specific periods. Sprouts will fund a non-reversionary $5,000,000 cash fund, and valid claimants will receive a pro rata share after fees, costs, and administration. Claims must be submitted by August 5, 2026.
Who qualifies
People in the United States who received an electronically printed Sprouts receipt displaying more than the last five digits of their credit or debit card number. The class period is August 16, 2020 through October 31, 2022 for debit and credit cards excluding EBT cards, and March 15, 2021 through April 15, 2023 for EBT cards. Notice recipients can submit a short-form claim; others must submit Claim Form-R with the required proof described on the site.
Suits does not handle payments or process claims. Payments are issued by the claim administrator and typically take 3-6 months.
