Google Assistant allegedly recorded private conversations without consent.
Summary
Alleges Google Assistant improperly recorded or disclosed users' communications following unintended activations and that purchasers of certain Google-made devices were affected. Google denies wrongdoing. The settlement establishes a $68 million fund for eligible class members who submit valid claims. Payments will be allocated according to the Plan of Allocation and the number of valid claims received.
Who qualifies
You may qualify if you purchased a Google-made device in the United States between May 18, 2016 and March 19, 2026, or if you used Google Assistant (or were a household member of a user) during that period and your communications were recorded following a False Accept or disclosed to a review vendor.
Suits does not handle payments or process claims. Payments are issued by the claim administrator and typically take 3-6 months.
