Data breach settlement for Pierce County Library System workers
Summary
Pierce County Library System suffered a cyber incident disclosed in July 2025 that may have exposed data of employees, their families, and contractors. PCLS denies wrongdoing but settled. Claimants may receive up to $250 for ordinary losses, $4,000 for extraordinary losses, or an alternative cash payment, plus three years of credit monitoring.
Who qualifies
Current and former PCLS employees, their family members, and current and former contractors who received notice that their information may have been impacted. PCLS affiliates, the judges, and anyone who opts out are excluded.
Suits does not handle payments or process claims. Payments are issued by the claim administrator and typically take 3-6 months.
